1 – Río Chíllar
Rio Chíllar is an amazing destination if you’re interested in a great natural spot for a family day out, or even just to go to for a peaceful walk along the river. Those who wish to reach the end of the walk should keep in mind that it is quite a long stretch, with most people looking to spend 6 to 7 hours trekking from one end to the other. It is a medium difficulty walk, so it is still quite manageable for less active individuals.
2 – Fundación Cueva de Nerja
A great site located within the municipality of Nerja is the spectacular ancient cave system of Fundación Cueva de Nerja. The caves are a long series of caverns that you can walk through, with several rooms to gaze upon in wonder and two main entrances. There is more than just the spectacular caverns to enjoy however, with artefacts and other interesting remains from the caves being found throughout the system.
3 – El Caminito Del Rey, El Chorro
Located in Ardales, not far from Málaga, El Caminito Del Rey is a fantastic natural canyon hike that you simply cannot miss trying out for yourself if you’re looking for an adventure. The name El Caminito Del Rey means “The Little King’s Path”, and it is essentially a walkway pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge within El Chorro. In the past, this hike was best known for being the world’s most dangerous, but it has since been closed, renovated and re-opened for the public to enjoy in a safer way.

There are many amazing natural sites within this town, like the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, the Cave of the Bathing Pool and the Hundidero-Gato system. The mountain ranges of Líbar and Montalate are just two more great examples of places you could explore and hike.
Nerja
The fantastic cave system, the remains of Roman settlements and many beautiful natural spots are all just a few of the things that make Nerja well worth a visit. You might want to go on a hike at Río Chíllar, the Cliffs of Maro Cerro Gordo, or Fuente del Esparto. There are so many amazing options for those who want to get closer to nature, as well as many wonderful beaches to relax on.
