Do you need to learn Spanish?
Some people may be curious if they’ll need to understand Spanish in order to live a comfortable life in Spain.
The good news is that most locals will know a decent amount of English and that there’s a large expat community here – so in most cases, you won’t need to worry about learning the language to any great degree. However, it could be beneficial to at least learn some of the more basic words and phrases to really immerse yourself in your new home.
Most will find that understanding Spanish will make the experience far easier and certainly more pleasurable, but you won’t need to become fluent in the language at any time if you don’t want to.
