Playa de Cabopino (as it’s known in Spanish) is often considered to be the perfect spot for a nice family day out. The beach is 1,500 meters long and 25 meters wide – and the fine golden sand and clear waters make it ideal for anyone who wants to relax under the sun.
There are plenty of great bars and restaurants here too, most of which offer delicious meals and quality drinks for a more than reasonable price. There are also a number of activities here – including rentable jet skis and a dolphin-watching trip.
La Malagueta (Málaga)
If you’re in (or nearby) Málaga, you may want to stop off and spend a few hours at La Malagueta. This beach is easily recognizable thanks to the Malagueta sculpture (found at the beginning of the beach itself). Roughly 1,200 meters in length and 45 meters wide, there’s plenty of room for you to sit back and relax.
While mostly sand, there are a number of green patches with palm trees, ideal for anyone who wants to step in the shade for a few minutes to cool off.
Playa Torreblanca (Fuengirola)
Located on the border of Fuengirola and Benalmadena, Playa Torreblanca is often the ideal beach for a quiet day in the sun. Even though it’s a fairly popular beach, it’s rare for it to be crowded. There are showers and toilets available here – and if you want, you can even rent out kayaks and pedal boats. This makes it a great beach for family fun, without the crowds.
There are also a number of good shops here too, so you could always take a look at what’s on offer in the area to take a break from sunbathing and swimming in the sea.
Playa del Bajondillo, Torremolinos

There are playgrounds and lifeguards on-site, making it a great option for families with smaller children. There are also picnic areas with plenty of palm trees for shade, so you and your little ones can take a break and have something nice to eat in the shade if you want to.
