With a name that means “beautiful sea,” Marbella is a paradise in the south of Spain.
Marbella is situated on the Mediterranean sea the heart of the Costa Del Sol and is world renowned for the fantastic lifestyle and a playground for the rich and famous, it offers with its year round warm temperature, perfect beaches, world class shopping, Michelin star restaurants and world class bars and some of Europe’s best Golf Courses.
Areas to which are a must to visit include Marbella’s Old Town where you can enjoy the charm in Orange square where some buildings date back to the 15th century! Between the old town and the sea you will find an area thats known as the Historic extension (Ensanche historico) where you will find botanical gardens, waterfalls and 10 sculptures by Salvador Dali.
Quite possibly the most glamorous and famous area in Marbella is its Golden Mile which is actually a stretch of four miles which begins at the western edge of Marbella and ends at Puerto Banus. This area is the home to some of Marbella’s finest villas and luxurious apartments with breath taking views of the Mediterranean and mountains with out a doubt one of the most prestigious addresses on the Costa De Sol.
The Golden Mile is also home to some of the finest hotels including The Marbella Club, Hotel Puente Romano and the Melia Don Pepe. Fantastic restaurants are not hard to find some of my favourites being Tahini Sushi Bar located in the previously mentioned Hotel Gran Melia Don Pepe, for a more casual affair Celicioso Located at the Puente Romano Hotel is perfect for me being celiac as the everything is gluten free!
Property prices have been driven up in Marbella due to popularity and confidence in the growing market and partly due to the lack of building licenses that have been available over the last few years. Although there has been urgent action taken since September 2017 to resolve the issues and backlog with granting building licenses in Marbella as demand for areas such as the beachside of the Golden Mile are out stripping supply and prices are souring in these ultra prime areas of Marbella.
To add to this luxurious lifestyle Marbella is about to welcome of the Four Seasons Hotel which started construction early October 2018 showcasing this areas renowned passion for whats known as one of the best lifestyles in the world.
Marbellas tourism has been booming since the 1960s and has had no signs of slowing down and in recent years has increased in numbers year on year in and out of seasonal times proving Marbella to be not only popular but hugely resilient.
